As part of Sexual Assault Awareness month, American University (AU) is pleased to announce that it will host World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) Hall of Famer and Rape, Abuse, Incest National Network (RAINN) volunteer Mick Foley.

Foley’s speech will be followed by a Q & A session and meet-and-greet for all attendees. The event is free and open to anyone with an AU ID.

“American University is committed to promoting and fostering a safe environment for all students, staff, and faculty,” said Gail Hanson, AU’s Vice President for Campus Life. “Mick’s unique experience and perspective will help us to further raise awareness and a sense of urgency within the AU community to continue to address this issue.”

The event is co-sponsored by the AU Offices of Campus Life, Advocacy Services for Interpersonal and Sexual Violence (OASIS), Public Safety, Risk Management, and Finance & Treasurer, and the School of Communication.
